Como bien es sabido, el trofeo del \u2018MVP\u2019 es un deseo para cualquier jugador de la NBA porque el que lo gane quedar\u00e1 en la historia de la liga para siempre. Hay que recordar que el jugador que se lleva este premio, es catalogado como el mejor basquetbolista de la temporada regular.<\/p>

Esta vez, la decisi\u00f3n de escoger al \u2018MVP\u2019 de esta temporada fue de \u2018photo finish\u2019. Dos fueron los m\u00e1ximos candidatos, Joel Embiid (Philadelphia 76ers) y Nikola Joki\u0107 (Denver Nuggets). Hasta el \u00faltimo reporte por parte de la NBA, nadie ten\u00eda certeza de qui\u00e9n ser\u00eda considerado el mejor jugador de la temporada. Las opiniones estaban muy divididas ya que cualquiera que fuera el ganador tendr\u00eda bastante repercusi\u00f3n.<\/p>

Si lo ganaba Embiid (que acab\u00f3 sucediendo) ser\u00eda el 1\u00b0 del jugador despu\u00e9s de mucho tiempo intent\u00e1ndolo, de hecho, se le apoda \u2018The Process\u2019 porque en su momento fue la cara de la reconstrucci\u00f3n que quisieron hacer los \u2018Sixers\u2019. Del otro lado, la situaci\u00f3n ser\u00eda distinta porque si Joki\u0107 terminaba ganando el premio, hubiera sido su 3\u00b0 \u2018MVP\u2019 consecutivo (hab\u00eda obtenido los dos \u00faltimos).<\/p>

Y para tranquilidad de todos, por fin lleg\u00f3 ese d\u00eda. El 2 de mayo, la NBA anunci\u00f3 que el p\u00edvot camerun\u00e9s hab\u00eda sido elegido como el \u2018Jugador M\u00e1s Valioso\u2019 (Most Valuable Player, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s) de la temporada regular con 915 puntos. Con la obtenci\u00f3n de este premio, la franquicia de Pennsylvania tiene un nuevo jugador con este galard\u00f3n desde la temporada 2000-01 cuando Allen Iverson lo gan\u00f3. Los jugadores que quedaron detr\u00e1s de Joel fueron Nikola Joki\u0107 (674 puntos), Giannis Antetokounmpo (606 puntos), Jayson Tatum (280 puntos).<\/p>

En definitiva, es un premio totalmente merecido para Embiid quien promedi\u00f3 34.6 puntos, 10.2 rebotes y 4.2 asistencias por partido (jug\u00f3 66 juegos). Lider\u00f3 a los \u2018Sixers\u2019 al 3\u00b0 lugar de la Conferencia Este. M\u00e1s tarde, vencieron a los Brooklyn Nets 4-0 en la 1\u00b0 ronda de playoffs y ahora est\u00e1n dando batalla a los m\u00e1ximos favoritos para quedarse con el \u2018anillo\u2019 esta temporada, los Boston Celtics.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
